Indefinite Articles

We have already learned that definite articles mean “the”: le - used with masc. singular noun la - used with fem. singular noun l’ - used with masc. or fem.singular noun that begins with vowel les - used with masc. or fem. plural noun

Indefinite Articles mean a/an/some. un - used with masc. singular noun une - used with fem. singular noun des - used with masc. or fem. plural noun

In the negative the un, une or des change to *de after ne...pas. *or d’ if the noun that follows it begins with a vowel

Examples: J’ai un crayon, mais je n’ai pas de papier. I have a penci, but I don’t have any paper.
