Try to read a wide range of materials such as information books, poems, stories, reports, recipes, instructions etc. Record your reading in your diary everyday. Your spellings for this fortnight are to be learnt for a test the week beginning Monday 12th December 2016. Spelling Result Last week’s winners of our spelling competition was Rousseau with a class average of 6.2 Photo Competition Well done to all those who entered the photograph competition. The standard was extremely high and there were some amazing pictures. They will be on the website soon for you all to see. We will have a vote in the Year group to decide who has won, as we cannot choose a winner ourselves. They will also be on view on Thursday 8th December when you are all invited to come into school to look at the work that they have completed over the past term. Additional Activities – YOU MUST DO ALL THE FIRST 2 ACTIVITIES AND THE LAST ONE IS OPTIONAL: 1) You are going on a spaceship and can only take 10 things with you. What will you take? Either write or draw them in your suitcase. You are going to meet some aliens on another planet. What 10 things would you take as presents for them? Draw them in a gift box. 2) Make an acrostic for one or more of the planets e.g. M A R S This could be a list of words beginning with each letter, a sentence for each line or even a rhyme. Optional: Have a go at making a snowman. Try this example from the following website: http://www.handimania.com/diy/no-sew-sock-snowman-all-steps.html Give it a name and write a short story about an adventure it has been on.
