Work Habits Day One

Businesses Perceptions of Todays Teens Todays teens are more interested in FB, Twitter, and Instagram than talking with someone face to face. Todays teens are lazy and irresponsible. Todays teens lack the basic writing skills necessary to be effective in the work place. Todays teens struggle to think for themselves and solve problems. Todays teens cannot be counted on because they are either late or dont show up.

Class Discussion Think: Reflect on your own behavior in comparison to what businesses are saying about todays teens. Are they right or wrong? Prove it. Pair: Chat with a partner about what businesses are saying about teen workers. Do you feel they are justified? Share: Share your thoughts and feelings with the class.

What is the solution? How can PHS students change the negative perceptions about todays teens work habits? What are you going to do to change these perceptions? According to Forbes.com, there are several bad work habits that could get you fired. Read through the following slides. Take the social media quiz at the end.
