What characteristics do you think of when you hear the term “student leader”?

What characteristics do you think of when you hear the term “college student affairs professional”? Change on worksheet

It’s not a label, it’s a spectrum Introvert Extrovert

What about those that fall in the middle? Introvert: Prefer peace, solitude and quiet time. It is often draining for these individuals to be around a lot of people. Extrovert: Drawn to people. These individuals get energy from social gatherings and are very outgoing. What about those that fall in the middle?

Ambiverts

Discuss these three questions… Do you struggle with the labels introvert or extrovert? Do you crave alone time but also love people? Do certain situations make you feel outgoing, while others make you feel quiet and reserved?

Ambiverts: Strike a balance between extroversion and introversion Ambiverts: Strike a balance between extroversion and introversion. These individuals typically slide up and down the spectrum depending on the situation, the context and the people around them. -Vanessa Van Edwards

Situational Introversion Certain settings make us extremely nervous and out of place Other settings make us feel extremely comfortable and social Learn how to identify these situations and what helps you to amplify your personality within them

Optimizing Personality Able to flip our personality traits in certain situations Time blocking Identify ways you can recharge in the moment Put yourself in “thriving” situations
