We have changed the way we will run This is APTA We have changed the way we will run This is APTA. You may not have noticed because you are new to APTA. We are making this session more interactive and focused on what can help you. Your membership in APTA is a partnership, we want you to leverage the valuable member resources that we can provide you. However, we also need you to be active participants in the association because you only get out of membership what you put in!

Welcome New APTA Members! Welcome! I am thrilled you were able to join us today to discuss your membership in APTA. APTA is a full-service membership association providing a diverse array of programs and services to enhance and support our members and the transit industry. This is in addition to our conferences and workshops. You will see a range of business members and systems at all the events these are great opportunities to advance your relationships across the industry. From bus and train manufacturers, seat builders and creators of clocks… A little bit of everything that our industry needs is created by an APTA member. And we are backed by some very important folks! Including our chair Flora Castillo and Deputy Administrator of the FTA Therese McMillan as you can see in a deep conversation!

APTA’ s History Principal public transportation trade organization, with more than 1,500 transit, business, and other members in the United States, Canada, and worldwide. Non-profit: 501(c)6. Began in 1882—the era of horse-drawn street railway cars. 90% of transit riders travel on APTA member systems.

Who Are APTA Members? Now, as you look at this slide, Transit Systems and Government/State Associations are pretty self explanatory, and then there are business members. Business members in APTA covers manufacturers, consultants, contractors, sole proprietors, and suppliers. We are diverse in size and function but we have a common focus, access to business and customers. We also have a small slice of members which represent organizations such as transportation management associations, public interest groups and even retirees.
