Kansas EPS Geofoam - Lightweight Fill Geofoam is among the most versatile lightweight materials available and is engineered to give you the greatest possible flexibility in design while providing structural support and adding minimal weight. Kansas EPS Geofoam weighs up to 1/100th traditional fill yet can support loads up to 2,678 pounds psf. Whether you are designing a movie theater, a retaining wall or a road over soft soils Kansas EPS Geofoam lightweight properties can increases jobsite safety and decreases installation time.  EPS Geofoam is a closed cell, cellular plastic material with engineered physical properties that do not change over time. Geofoam requires no ongoing maintenance. Traditional earth materials are heavy and can cause settlement, instability or lateral pressures. Other lightweight fill materials such as foamed concrete, waste tires, soil, woodchips, wood fiber, etc., have higher densities, are variable in their makeup and are not engineered with consistent physical properties. Geofoam offers predictable lightweight fill material manufactured to meet ASTM D6817 standards. It does not contain CFC’s, HCFC’s, or other harmful gases that impact our environment. It is used as a lightweight fill in areas where the subgrade is too unstable and cannot carry the loads by means of other common fill or lightweight products. Kansas EPS Geofoam is available to meet ASTM D6817 or AASHTO standards and can be cut to project geometry in our plant or on your jobsite.
