InTouch 2012 R2

Top New Features in InTouch 2012 R2 SQL Express 2008 with SSMSE FSGateway 3.0 installed as an InTouch feature* CyberSecurity enhancements (SDL) .Net 4.0 LogonCurrentUser() extended for AppServer OS security Alarm Hot BackUp Manager support for failover engine platforms Memory Caching of ArchestrA Graphics not embedded in InTouch Windows Tag browser in ArchestrA Graphics Editor now browses InTouch tags Trend support for dual Historian

SQL Express 2008 with SSMSE Starting InTouch 2012, SQL Express has been installed with InTouch if no SQL Server nor SQL Express is present. However, the version installed does not have a management console. This has caused issues and prevented users from performing basic tasks such as tuning SQL Express performance, scheduling backups, etc. With InTouch 2012 R2, the version installed is SQL Express 2008 with SSMSE, which includes a management console.

FSGateway installed as InTouch feature Starting with InTouch 2012, FSGateway is being installed as an InTouch Feature, in order to provide out-of-the-box OPC support and to make our customers’ life easy. In 2012 R2 we have addressed issues with FSGateway install, uninstall and upgrades. ASP2012 R2 installs FSGateway version 3.0 Additionally, FSGateway will also be available as stand alone version in the new Device Integration DVD as well as for download from WDN. Installation of stand alone FSGateway takes ownership of the feature away from InTouch, becoming visible in Add/Remove Programs.

Cyber Security Product code was recompiled using latest version of Visual Studios (2010) which provides a higher level of cyber security. Compliance with SDL.

.NET 4.0 The 2012 R2 release supports .NET 4.0 Word of caution: Certain NET scripts may have to be validated. Same for 3rd party .NET controls.

ArchestrA Graphics Caching InTouch 2012 introduced the concept of window caching in order to enhance HMI responsiveness/performance. However, this applies to native InTouch windows only. InTouch 2012 R2 extends memory caching to ArchestrA Graphics not embedded in InTouch Windows.

ArchestrA Graphics Caching

LogonCurrentUser() The LogonCurrentUser() script function has been extended to work with Application Server when using OS Group or OS User based security.

Alarm Hot BackUp Manager Alarm Hot BackUp Manager can now be configured to point to platforms associated to a failover engine pair.
