What is the SECC? State legislation created the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) in 1993 Employees of state agencies, junior & community colleges, and universities across Texas Prior to 1993, charitable orgs would stop by offices throughout the year, often without appointments, and make their ‘ask’. The State Employees Charitable Campaign is the only statutorily authorized workplace campaign for state agencies and higher education employees throughout Texas.

SECC Highlights It happens only once a year: September 1 and ends October 31. It’s SUPER fast! Campaign goal is to collaboratively and positively impact the health and welfare of our local, state, national and international communities. Through the efforts and generosity of state employees since, Texas agency and higher education employees (both active and retired) HAVE CONTRIBUTED $175.82 MILLON THROUGH THE SECC

SECC: Local Highlights In 2017, state employees in El Paso raised $156,968 In 2017, 490 UTEP Faculty and Staff participated and contributed $85,475 through the S.E.C.C. campaign UTEP employees accounted for over 50% of the total raised in El Paso.

Why should WE give? It's an easy, effective, and cost-efficient way to give to charities Our contributions help improve the quality of life of those in need The campaign supports a wide variety of vital health and human services All charities in the campaign must meet strict eligibility criteria It will feel great to give as a UTEP community It's tax deductible

Online Form Employee must login using their UTEP email. It is SUPER fast and easy. Go to seccgiving.utep.edu Look for the tab at the far right labeled “Online Donation Form” Log in, donate to your preferred charities.

Paper Form Complete using legal name (not nicknames) Make checks payable to “SECC” and attach to the pledge form (cash needs to be attached as well) SECC Coordinator will Make sure it is legible collect all paper forms + payment maintain log of all cash/checks pledge forms verify for all cash and checks received Send pledge forms to UTEP Payroll: University Towers Suite 100 Safest way: Hand deliver to Payroll once received
