Presentation transcript:

The Art of Digital Teaching Introductory Professional Development Course Designed for Teachers to support the “Art of Digital Teaching” Gives Educators Critical Supports to More Effectively Integrate Technology Into the Classroom Provides Supports for Facilitating Online Courses Supports Blended Learning Initiatives Aligns 100% with iNACOL’s National Standards for Quality Online Teaching A new offering from OW is a PD course designed for TEACHERS! The Art of Digital Teaching (AODT) is an introductory course designed to prepare traditional classroom instructors to incorporate digital elements in teaching and confidently facilitate online instruction. It aligns fully to the INACOL standards for quality online teaching. This course provides teachers with supports for facilitating online instruction, as well as integrating digital elements into their teaching. It also absolutely supports Blended Learning initiatives that are so popular with many school districts across the nation.

The Art of Digital Teaching Unit 1: The Digital Teacher Unit 2: Digital Instruction and Assessment Design Unit 3: Engagement with Digital Elements Unit 4: Digital Teacher Portfolio and Reflection Unit 5: Final Exam The course itself is broken into 5 units with a digital teaching portfolio and final exam. The entire course is expected to take 35-30 hours to complete (and would be the equivalent of approximately 3 continuing education credits…..Note that OW is NOT providing of certifying those CE Credits…that will be completely up to the district, but we are saying that the course is worth 35-40 hours of work and should be the equivalent of 3 CEUs!) Unit 1 focuses on the digital teacher and teaching digital citizenship to digital natives! Unit 2 covers instruction and assessment design, including academic integrity. And Unit 3 focuses on student engagement! In Unit 4, teachers curate their own digital portfolio with reflections and Unit 5 culminates into a final exam. The are additional costs associated with this course, but check with you Educational Specialist for more information!
