Our contribution to Western Australia’s economy domestic and international tourism expenditure The Qantas Group contributed $1.4b to West Australia’s economy in FY2016. Over 4,200 FTE jobs are supported by the operation of the Qantas Group (1,836 direct FTE jobs and 2,396 indirect FTE jobs). Qantas’ daily flight from London to Perth is estimated to bring approximately $87m per annum in additional tourism expenditure to West Australia. The creation of the Perth hub is estimated to result in $473m in additional GSP for West Australia and provide 329 FTE jobs each year. Qantas contributes $240m in regional WA, and supports 636 FTE’s The route from Perth to London will result in Qantas having additional operating expenditure in WA as a result of demand in catering services and the requirement of 61 additional pilots in Perth. It is estimated $473m in additional GSP for WA between 2016 and 2026 and around 329 FTE jobs each year over the same period. Apart from the tourism sector, transport, trade and recreation sectors will increase due to the additional flight from London. This usually generates a flow-on to other sectors of the WA economy due to interdependencies. The contribution of the Qantas Group to WA was $1.4b in FY2016. This includes both domestic and international tourism expenditure. In WA Qantas operation supports 4,232 FTE jobs with a $1.4b contribution to the economy. By increasing connectivity domestically and internationally, the Qantas Group increases labour productivity and supports economic activity and regional communities by facilitating tourism and exports Qantas’ strategic partnerships with Emirates, China Eastern Airlines and American Airlines facilitate inbound tourism from key source markets, positively impacting on the economy

Fly between Perth & London direct on Qantas’ new 787-9 Dreamliner Qantas has committed to purchase an additional six B787-9 aircraft by 2020, for a total of 14 x Dreamliners, growing the international business and giving international visitors unprecedented access to WA and Australia Fly non-stop between Perth and London, on Qantas’ new route, offering a seamless connection to/from Europe. Daily flights on the history-making route commenced on 24th March 2018. The new QF9/10 replaces the previous Melbourne-Dubai- London route, offering customers a faster flying time and quicker connections. Qantas international flights to/from Perth operate from an integrated domestic/international terminal inT3, providing a ‘seamless transfer’’ through Perth, making it easier for visitors to start exploring WA. Qantas has commenced double daily PER/SIN flights, and the resumption of the SIN hub from April 2018. This, along with the continuing codeshare services on Emirates (twice daily) will provide 5 viable daily options to travel between Europe and Western Australia. International and domestic flights will arrive and depart from the same terminal at Perth Airport The new QF9/10 service will reduce total travel time from London to Melbourne by more than an hour compared with existing A380 services.

Ticketing requirements take on the same conditions as the international journey.
