Before we start… You and your friend order two medium pizzas. Each pizza has 8 slices. You ate 3 8 of the pizzas and your friend ate 5 16 of the pizzas. How much of the pizza did you eat together?

How do you add and subtract fractions? Find your common denominator. If there’s a mixed number, you can turn it into an improper fraction first. Add/subtract the numerators, keeping your denominator the same. Reduce your final answer.
