Our Ah-ha! This applies to us! Teaching takes GRIT! In order for us to cultivate grit in our students, we had to acknowledge and nurture our own sense of grit. Gritty teachers persist longer. Gritty teachers are more optimistic and happy…and their students perform better.

Interest

What might this look like? My discipline in the media Similar to article abstracts 1-2 as dropbox assignments Final one is submitted to discussion Dinner Party Scaffolded delivery over time Students nominate and refine guest list Research and prepare questions Answer questions on behalf of guest Projects/Presentations Allow students to go “deeper” in an area of interest. Work better toward end of course
