Border Definition: A part that forms the outside edge of something Sentence: She made a pink border around the quilt.

Threaded Definition: Passed thread through the eye of a needle. Sentence: She threaded the needle before she began sewing.

Gathering Definition: A coming together of people. Sentence: We were excited to attend the family gathering at Christmas.

Scraps Definition: Leftover bits of cloth. Sentence: We used scraps to make a family quilt.

Needles Definition: Small, thin tools used for sewing. Sentence: She used a needle and thread to mend her pants.

Sewn Definition: Fastened with stitches using a needle and thread. Sentence: The doll was hand sewn.

Babushka Definition: A woman’s head scarf; from the Russian word meaning “grandmother.” Sentence: Mother wore a red babushka when she went shopping.

Challah Definition: A loaf of white bread, often braided, that traditionally is eaten at special Jewish celebrations. Sentence: On Friday night, Anna ate challah with her dinner.
