IBM Academic Initiative, System z

The need for IT professionals is greater than ever Newly declared computer-science majors down 32% The number of job openings for IT professionals nationwide has increased by 47.6% from 2004 to 2006. Approximately 70 million Baby Boomers will exit the workforce during the next 15 years, with only 40 million workers coming in * SkillProff,Watson Wyatt, Monster.com; U.S. Department of Labor; Bureau of Labor Statistics; Information Technology Association of America

We know those mainframe workers want to retire and go surfing! 53% of mainframe workers have 20+ years

What is the IBM Academic Initiative? Membership in the IBM Academic Initiative is free and open to individual faculty members.
