Lesson Objectives To be able to describe why exercise is good for you. To understand how different types of exercise can benefit the body in different ways. To know what effect exercise has on your heart rate and blood pressure.

What is Heart Rate? Find your pulse. Count the number of beats while your partner times 1 minute. Write down your result This is your heart rate in beats per minute (bpm) We call this your ‘resting’ heart rate. To get an accurate result: measure it 3 times, then calculate a mean average.
