A lesson to introduce UKMT maths challenges The cross number round M A T H S TALK ABOUT IT Round two is the cross number and here are the rules; You have 20 minutes to work through a series of clues When the time is up you will receive 1 mark for each correct digit entered (Usually you could check during the competition one digit at a time) There are two sets of clues across and down, your team will be split into two groups to complete the round. You cannot talk directly to the other group or help them with their clues. You can only get another teams answer by looking at the shared answer sheet A lesson to introduce UKMT maths challenges LO: To work through various rounds of the UKMT competition

A lesson to introduce UKMT maths challenges Scores and tie breaker M A T H S SUM IT UP You will be asked to make a target challenge number using some or all of six given numbers. You may use some or all of the given numbers to make the challenge number using any of the mathematical operation You may use each symbol any number of times. You can only use each number once. You do not have to use all the numbers. A lesson to introduce UKMT maths challenges LO: To work through various rounds of the UKMT competition
