Impact of Energy Efficiency on Municipal Economy Arto Nuorkivi Kaunas, Dec. 13, 2005

Objectives of Energy Saving are to: Reduce costs of energy services, Reduce emissions to environment, Improve competitiveness in the market, Meet affordability requirements of customers, and finally, Reduce (municipal) subsidies.

The turnover of the City is 107 M€ Example from Romania The turnover of the City is 107 M€

Flow of Resources and Losses

District Heating Rehabilitation in Poland

Example on Measures in Poland 10%- 30% of the pipelines in the district heating network were replaced. Therefore, the thermal losses of the network reduced 50%. Simultaneously, the expected lifetime of the network was extended, which reduced the need of replacement of pipelines in the years to come.
