Lesson 1: Introduction to Dash & Blockly Robot Guts Lesson 1: Introduction to Dash & Blockly

Lights Dash has 12 individually programmable LEDs (light emitting diodes) in the eye.

Lights Dash’s chest light color can be customized.

Lights Dash’s ear light colors can be individually customized.

Lights Dash’s tail light contains 2 red LEDs that can be turned on or off using Blockly.

Microphones Dash has three microphones around the neck that can locate where a sound is coming from.

Motors Dash’s two wheels each have an individual motor. Dash’s head also has a motor that allows horizontal (pan) and vertical movement (tilt).

Sensors Dash has two distance sensors in the front (beneath the two black panels), and one in the back, in the taillight. These can sense when an object is nearby!

Robots are like people How do you like to be treated? Treat Dash with respect What does it look like? What does it sound like? Take turns programming dash Be patient with Dash

How can we work as a team to program Dash? Reader: closely reads the directions Driver: holds the iPad and programs Safety Officer: makes sure the path is clear Recorder: records (if there is a sheet)

We are starting Dash Driving School!
