A Typical Kindergarten Day

When Eagles arrive at torrence creek Eagles will walk to classrooms. Assistants will be in the hallways helping Eagles get to the proper rooms.

Reader’s workshop Students will become independent readers Students will interact with books independently and share their books with friends.

Words their way Eagles will become spellers by working with syllables, rhymes, letter sounds, word families, and blends.

Writer’s Workshop Eagles will become authors and illustrators. Eagles will write phonetically and use room resources for support.

Lunch Eagles will sit with their classmates. Eagles can either buy or bring lunch.

Physical activity Each day Eagles will get 30 minutes of physical activity.

Math Eagles will interact in “hands on” lessons learning complex skills. Eagles will explore different concepts in multiple ways.

Science and social studies Eagles will learn to think like a scientist. Eagles will learn about their community, cultures, traditions, and maps.

Fun Activities Eagles will participate in many celebrations: writing, reading, holiday, and classroom achievements.

Dismissal Eagles will leave rooms with an assistant or teacher. Eagles will be walked to dismissal locations to keep everyone safe!
