Introduction Friday, November 16, 2018Friday, November 16, 2018 This packet investigates reproduction at the organism level. Recall that there is asexual reproduction and sexual reproduction. Sexual Reproduction In sexual reproduction, germ cells in the gonads are produced via meiosis. There is fusion between a sperm and ovum (egg cell). Growth of the zygote into a fully functional adult. When the organism reaches puberty, mature sperm and ova will be formed within the gonads and the life cycle continues. However, it is important to note that some organisms, found in Kingdom Animalia reproduce asexually.
