The French and Indian War (Also known as The Seven Years War) French and Indian War History

More Trouble! The lands between the Appalachian Mountains and the Mississippi River were under British control because they won the war. Colonists wanted to settle in the land, which used to belong to the Native Americans. The Native Americans got so angry, and under the leadership of a Native named, Pontiac, together the Native Americans worked together to capture some of the British forts. Why do you think they did this? Put yourself in the shoes of a Native American….what would you do? Put yourself in the shoes of a British colonist who wants to settle in the area that is now theirs due to winning the war. What would you do? How would you react and why?

Proclamation of 1763 King George III wanted to end the fighting between the colonist and the Native Americans Read p. 298 As a class What did the Proclamation of 1763 say? How did the Native Americans Respond?

Writing a letter to the King You will write a letter to King George III from the perspective of a Native American who has been fighting hard for his right to have a place to live freely. Ms. Taggart will give further instructions Introduce In class and turned in the next day! This is informal, it can be done in notebook!

Paying for the War Read p. 299 from text book, “Paying for the War” as a class Think/pair/share with classmates thoughts and reactions to British Action What may an effect be to this action by the British Parliament?
