Surveys - on statistical production costs - NSI income generation Two surveys with the goal to collect cost related information: Cost assessment of production of official statistics in the EU Member States, Candidate and EFTA countries - developed by Eurostat. Survey on statistical production costs - Objectives to better assess the resources used for production of official statistics by NSIs and ONAs to follow the overall trend of the funding allocated for the production of official statistics allow making comparisons between the ESS as a whole and other statistical infrastructures in the world 4

Survey on statistical production costs - Results The survey results cannot yet be used to compare the countries Further methodological work is needed so that the results are reliable Definition of scope and coverage – European/national statistics; NSIs (including regional statistical offices, ONAs; FTE or head count, etc. 5
