Daisy Albert & Diane Crawford Hello my name is Daisy M. Albert, I am a member of the Nez Perce Tribe in Idaho and a 44 year old mother of 5 children Ages 26, 19,15, 12 and 9. I have also have a 5 year old granddaughter. In 2013 I recieved my Associates degree and continued my education by recieving my Tribal Governmence Business Management degree from Northwest Indian College. Not feeling complete with my degrees I have chosen to enroll in Lewis Clark State College to earn my Nursing degree. I have been a Certified Nurses Assistant for 19 years and feel the nursing career is where I want to be. In hopes my children will follow in earning a college education Diane Crawford: Diane Crawford is the founder and executive director of The Crawford Crew Foundation (TCC.) The Crawford Crew is a small, volunteer-driven non-profit headquartered in Westerville, OH, which focuses on raising awareness of cervical cancer. In the summer of 2009 at the age of 43, Diane was diagnosed with cervical cancer, later that year The Crawford Crew was born. Diane’s, “I’ve never met a stranger” mentality is what has opened many doors for TCC and enabled them to educate and support so many people. Diane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Western Michigan University. In her 20+ years working in corporate America she held marketing, logistics, PR, and sales positions. None of these positions prepared her fully for what would be her passion and her role for the rest of her life – a wife, mother of 3, and a cancer survivor dedicated to telling everyone who would listen how to prevent cervical cancer. Diane works closely with The Ohio State University, The James Cancer Hospital, and Otterbein University. She is a member of the The Ohio Partners for Cancer Control (OPCC) HPV Vaccination Committee and has been interviewed by local radio, television, and publications and has been a guest speaker at the local ACS meetings, school and community events.   You can contact Diane via her website: www.thecrawfordcrew.org, by phone at 614-893-1032, or by email at di@thecrawfordcrew.org.

Daisy and Diane Can you tell us about your experience with an HPV-related cancer? What type of medical treatments did you receive? Do you have long term effects from these treatments? Did these treatments impact your family life? Are there any other related messages that you would like to share with pediatricians and their healthcare teams regarding cervical cancer prevention and HPV vaccination?
