HRE2O CPT Information

How much is the CPT worth? The CPT is worth 15% of your final mark. You will be assessed on all four categories: knowledge/understanding, thinking/inquiry, communication, and application. Each category is worth 25 %.

General Instructions Students will complete a two-part task over a total of five days. You will be required to consult your own notes/handouts from the course to complete these tasks. You will also be required to do individual research on one nonprofit organization.

General Instructions There are two parts to the assignment. Part A: Visual Display Board: This will be completed both in class and outside of class. Part B: Written Reflection: This will be completed in class and submitted at the end of the final work period (it cannot be completed at home). You will receive 2 periods to complete this portion.

What is a nonprofit organization? A nonprofit organization is a club, society, or association that’s organized solely for the following purposes: Social Welfare Civic Improvement Recreation Any other purpose except profit

A nonprofit corporation can be A church or church association A school A charity A medical provider An activity club A volunteer services organization A professional association A research institute A museum A sports association

What nonprofit organization will I be assigned? You will receive a list of suitable nonprofit organizations today. Select 3 or 4 that you are potentially interested in researching. Tomorrow, a draw will be held in class. You will be assigned one of your top 3 or 4 preferences.

What about the written reflection? You will receive two periods to complete the written component. It will take the form of a written reflection answering a series of questions related to units covered throughout the semester. You cannot complete this component at home. You will select three out of the four course units and answer questions related to the units you selected. You will not receive the questions in advance but you may use your notes to help you answer them.

General Instructions In extenuating circumstances (ex. Illness), the principal shall determine an alternative resolution for a missed final evaluation. Should a student not complete all or part of the scheduled final evaluation activities for no good reason, the student will forfeit whatever portion of the 15 percent that was not completed.

Important Dates June 4th- CPT research day in lab 225 (for nonprofit) June 6th – In class work period for reflection (can do rough work/brainstorm ideas for responses to questions) June 7th – Library period to type up and submit your responses to the reflection questions June 8th – Library research period (for nonprofit) June 12th – Due date to submit visual display of nonprofit

FYI You will not have to give a formal presentation of your nonprofit to the class. However, one – two days will be set aside for you to display your nonprofit and share your research (as a casual display fair)
