-(-5) DO NOW: Take out your packet/H.W. May 11, 2016 Take out your packet/H.W. Create a stem and leaf plot for: 2, 5, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 19, 21, 24, 27 -(-5)

Today I will be able to make sense and persevere in solving real world and mathematical problems. I will show I know it when I can successfully complete MCAS problems with my group and compete in “A Minute to Win It” style challenges. 6.SMP.1 May 11, 2016

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! Objective of the game……to get the most points! 10 questions (1 minute to answer) 10 challenges (1 minute to complete)

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! x=6 Question #1: Challenge #1: DEFY GRAVITY: Using only one hand, players must keep two balloons from touching the ground for one minute. No holding the balloons!  1 player per team, to give the players ample space to knock their balloons around.

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! Question #2: Challenge #2: “NOODLING AROUND”: Using a long piece of spaghetti in your mouth, stack 6 penne pasta in a row in 60 seconds or less. Everyone plays.

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! Question #3: Challenge #3: 54 “A BIT DICEY”: You have one minute to build a tower of six cubes on the end of a popsicle stick. The trick here is that the popsicle stick must be held in your mouth.

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! 1/16 Question #4: Challenge #4: “SCOOP IT UP”: Using nothing but a spoon in your mouth, transfer six ping pong balls from one bowl to another) in less than one minute. No hands! Hands are only allowed if you drop the ping pong ball, and then they can be used to place the ball back into the original bowl for another transfer attempt. One player per team.

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! 5 m/s Question #5: Challenge #5: “SPACE SAUCER”: Players place a straw in their mouth and use suction to transfer a pile of 25 circle chips from one plate to another in under one minute. Only one hand may be used to hold the straw. One player per team.

150 sq. inches A MINUTE TO WIN IT! Question #6: Challenge #6: STACK IT UP: Players must stack 25 pennies in under a minute using only one hand. This game works well with 3 players competing in each round of play. One player per team.

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! Question #7: 5 degrees Fahrenheit Challenge #7: DEFY GRAVITY: Using only one hand, players must keep two balloons from touching the ground for one minute. No holding the balloons!

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! Question #8: Challenge #8: B. 3(2m + 1) Challenge #8: “NOODLING AROUND”: Using a long piece of spaghetti in your mouth, stack 6 penne pasta in a row in 60 seconds or less. Everyone plays.

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! Question #9: Challenge #9: 74 sq. meters “A BIT DICEY”: You have one minute to build a tower of six cubes on the end of a popsicle stick. The trick here is that the popsicle stick must be held in your mouth. Everyone plays.

A MINUTE TO WIN IT! 314 sq. cm Question #10: Challenge #10: “SCOOP IT UP”: Using nothing but a spoon in your mouth, transfer six ping pong balls from one bowl to another in less than one minute.
