TECHNOLOGY:- USO-Tablet Project Infrastructure, Sustainability& ICT policies

TECHNOLOGY RECEIVED Connectivity: A 1mbps speed connectivity line to the school in the form of fixed, wireless, or satellite as required. 24 x learner tablets, 2 x teacher LAPTOPS 1 x admin LAPTOP, 1 x Server, 1 x interactive device (e-Beam), 1 x Data projector, 1 x Printer 1 x Speakers, 1 x charging/security cabinet, 1 x access point to enable a limited wireless LAN. Infrastructure, Sustainability & ICT Policies

TECHNOLOGY RECEIVED continue….. This equipment will have a 3 year on-site warranty and 3 months technical support enforce by the supplier. These items are to be placed on the asset register of the school. E-Learning Content: The technology will be pre-loaded with various educational content and e-Learning tools. Professional Development: Training in the use of the technology and related ICT skills development will also be provided within this USO project. Infrastructure, Sustainability & ICT Policies

USO Training plan:- Training Time Frames: Start between 28 May – 30 July 2016 Clusters: 7 Schools are grouped Attendees: Each school sends 3 candidates Training Workshops: Two training sessions of 8 hours each: (Saturdays) Infrastructure, Sustainability & ICT Policies

CURRICULUM and ICT INTEGRATION How do I teach with technology? MANAGEMENT: SMT determines the Curriculum Focus for using the technology Tablets Timetable- finalised and circulated to all Teachers are orientated Monitor the process- Teacher and the Learner engages TEACHER: CONTENT TECHNOLOGY PEDAGOGY HOW WILL I INTEGRATE? Part of the lesson preparation/ addressing particular curriculum need at school. Infrastructure, Sustainability & ICT Policies

Way Forward TRAINING SCHEDULE: will be communicated coming Friday ORIENTATION SESSIONS AT SCHOOLS: Done by 3 candidates of the school Each teacher must complete a Mobile technology Skills list and submit to district EACH USO SCHOOL: Indicate a project champion- 1/3 Will be invited to come to district- USO district support workshop Infrastructure, Sustainability & ICT Policies
