From New Zealand 17 years experience teaching English in Japan. 8 years experience teaching English in Taiwan. (including 3 years at Chingshin Elementary)

Classroom Goals Taking responsibility for learning. Developing a sense of pride in work, and letting good work be its own reward. Learning how to respect oneself and others and show good manners at all times. Following rules and procedures/accepting the consequences. Using English naturally in all aspects of school life. Effective group-work to facilitate learning and cooperation.

My Expectations This Year Students will… 1. pay attention in class and contribute productively. 2. complete all assigned tasks, both written and oral. 3. always be prepared for class. 4. share and cooperate in creating a positive classroom atmosphere that is comfortable for all members of the class.

After School Class After School class will take place every Wednesday from 4.20 to 6pm. The focus of After School class in the first semester will be working on applying and extending the Treasures skills to the production of the Christmas show. During the second semester, students will practice for the Academic Fair. This year they will be doing Reader`s Theater. Additional lessons will be Treasures enrichment lessons and project-based activities.

Christmas Show Christmas Show One of the main events of the first semester.

Notice Cambridge is a benchmark exam that allows us to evaluate our program. We encourage our students to register for the benchmark level that is appropriate for each grade level. 劍橋 英檢目的在檢核學生是否能夠達到學校設定目標，我們鼓勵學生 報考各年級規定之門檻級數。 The school will only provide the registration form of the exam at the benchmark level that is appropriate for each grade level. 學校提供各年級報考門檻級數報名表。 We will, however, provide the registration form for the next level if your child has passed the previous level with full marks for over one year. 然若學生已通過前一級數一年以上，且達到滿盾 牌者，我們仍會主動發給報名表。 Students who attend afterschool Cambridge classes will sit the level as recommended by the afterschool teacher. 參加課後劍 橋班的學生由課後教師建議認證級數。

How do we sign up for the exam? We will pass down the registration form at the beginning of the second semester. 下學期開學時會發下報名表。 Please hand in the registration form to the TA. 將報名表填妥交給各班TA即完成報名。

How can you help? Encourage your child to take responsibility for his or her homework. Ensure they have everything they need for their classes. Emphasize the importance of reading.
