UK Education System Institution Types & Credentials International Students in UK Growing Destination Why Students Prefer To Study In UK Colleges or Universities After Graduation Conclusion 2 Agenda

1996 Education Act of the UK Section 7 of the 1996 Education Act states:1996 Education Act "The parent of every child of compulsory school age shall cause him to receive efficient full-time education suitable- (a) to his age, ability and aptitude, and (b) to any special educational needs he may have, either by regular attendance at school or otherwise." The education system in the UK is divided into four main parts, primary education, secondary education, further education and higher education. 3 UK Education System

University Open University College and Institution of Higher Education Open College College of Technology Teacher Training College Institute 4 Institution Types & Credentials

UK is number two choice for international students in the world, second only to the USA. Excellent higher-education system and hundreds of world-class universities, the UK promises a rich experience for international students. The degrees and qualifications from UK higher education institutions are known around the world as high quality and world class. The cost of education for an international student in the UK can be lower compared to the USA and other countries. An international student in the UK is typically allowed to work up to 20 hours a week during school term, and up to full-time when school is out of term. There are a variety of scholarships and loans available to students who wish to study in the UK. With a racial, ethnic and religious jumble, the UK is very open to new traditions and cultures - something that is a great thing for students from other countries. 5 International Students in UK

The UK has worked hard to capitalize on the growing demand for English-language instruction and the post-9/11 visa hurdles in the US. The top ten countries sending students to the UK are: China 50,755 India 19,205 Greece 17,675 Republic of Ireland 16,790 USA 14,755 Germany 13,265 France 12,455 Malaysia 11,450 Nigeria 9,605 Hong Kong 9,445 6 Growing Destination

Students get the skills needed for the modern environment with updated skills and technical knowledge. UK is the only country with 1 year of quality education, which is one of the oldest education systems worldwide. It has an exciting and fun culture which meets all educational needs. Postgraduate study (Taught Modules) can be completed in one year. It's an affordable option compared to USA/Australia. Lenient and Easy procedures for applying visa. Students can work part time while studying (20 hrs. legally allowed - foundation degree and upwards and 10 hrs. for diploma students). Students can extend their visas for 2 years on completion of the course under the Post Study Work Visa. The Post-study Work visa allows all international students completing a UK degree qualification to apply for a visa to stay on and look for work in the UK up to 2 years. 7 Why Students Prefer To Study In UK Colleges or Universities

For some students with the studying "bug", you may want to further your education and this is most typically done Ph.D. or other postgraduate course. Job Search If you decide to return home and if you come from a country that is very different to the UK then learn how to cope with "reverse culture shock" and other things that will come in your path when you return home. 8 After Graduation

Studying in UK is a way to understand different cultures. Global Exposure. Learn composite styles of study. Better living conditions; and enhanced working environment. Professional career advice/suggestions from mentors Provides an opportunity to be independent in life. Global degree gives a world-wide reach to opportunities. 9 Conclusion
