Presentation transcript:

Marine Worms eyes that can detect direction and intensity of light Cool Snot Flowers! eyes that can detect direction and intensity of light Bilaterally symmetrical! (can move in one set direction: escape predators, pursue prey, find mates) True head with a brain complex organ system (some have mouth and anus!!) Well-developed muscular system

Many are parasitic Can be very colorful! Penis Fencing! Being the “male” means the worm will not have to care for young! Hermaphrodites are common, but many can also be found in different sexes. Flatworms Ribbon Worms Long Proboscis used to entangle prey Smallest, most are parasites, simplest, more of these than all other worms Many are parasitic Roundworms MOST COMPLEX!! Adapted for burrowing! Some feed on sediment, while others are predators! Ex. Polychaete/Clamworms from lab, blood vessels and closed circulatory system! Parapodia (feet for locomotion) Segmented Worms Have fins, can swim, and teeth! Not many of these worms Arrow Worms

ANNELIDA Bobbit Worm PLATYHELMINTHES Green Bomber NEMATODA Worm in Salmon! CHAETOGNATHA NEMERTEA ANNELIDA A spawning worm LIFE - Nemerteans
