Even the kids in the block will be seen! We showcase EVERYTHING in this five minute stint. NO GUM! NO FOOD! NO DRINKS on the track or field! NO glitter. If you want to throw or toss confetti, please cut up paper and make it biodegradable. We can’t have buckets of glitter on the track! Can’t happen. Kite Runner Kite Ch. 16= pages203-213 Kite Ch. 17= pages 214-223 Pass out Test Study Guide IF time, work on the Test Study Guide- THIS IS A GRADE YOU MUST COMPLETE TEST STUDY GUIDE AND TURN IT IN NEXT CLASS. As usual, I will review the study guide BEFORE the test. Come to class! It is a huge advantage. IF there is time left in class, you may begin working on it.

What am I supposed to do now? Work on your Ch. 9-17 Test Study Guide You will turn it in next class for a GRADE

Homework 1. Finish the Test Study Guide. You will turn this in for a grade TEST Ch. 9-17 on May 7 (A-day = MON) And May 8 (B-day= TUES) I have reading comprehension questions if you want them. Please see me if you want a sheet or look on-line. The SQs are not required for the rest of the book BUT the test questions are from the SQ questions.

A- day Journal #5 B-day is ahead by one journal & it’s lip dub so no journal today. Directions: Write for 15-20 minutes in response to these questions: Who is the most interesting character in the novel so far? Why? Explain. Which scene in the novel stands out in your mind? Briefly describe the scene and note its importance. Explain why you remember this scene the most. Pick one of the following themes in this novel and discuss important people & events in the first eight chapters Betrayal and Redemption: Amir’s quest to redeem himself makes up the heart of the novel. Early on, Amir strives to redeem himself in Baba’s eyes, primarily because his mother died giving birth to him, and he feels responsible. To redeem himself to Baba, Amir thinks he must win the kite- tournament and bring Baba the losing kite, both of which are inciting incidents that set the rest of the novel in motion. The more substantial part of Amir’s search for redemption, however, stems from his guilt regarding Hassan. (Spark notes). Love and tension between fathers and sons: Amir has a very complex relationship with Baba, and as much as Amir loves Baba, he rarely feels Baba fully loves him back. Amir’s desire to win Baba’s love consequently motivates the choice he makes in the alley. Baba has his own difficulty connecting with Amir. (Spark notes)
