15 Days of Reading

Each student has received the following Reader’s Notebook that will be collected at the end of our 15 days of reading unit for a major grade.

During our reading unit... you will choose a book to be read on your own. You will have time in class to read, but if you fall behind you may need to take your book home to get caught up at night or over the weekends. As we complete the unit, students will be responsible for keeping up with a reading folder to be turned in at the end of the 15 days. This folder will be a major grade.

you will be responsible for: Throughout this unit, you will be responsible for: 1. Responding to questions in your Reading Notebook each day you read – you must write the question and respond in at least four (4) sentences 2. Chatting with peers reading the same book about different aspects of your reading experience when assigned 3. Chatting with peers reading different books about different aspects of your reading experience when assigned 4. Conferencing with Mrs. Gragert about your book – you will need to be able to answer multiple questions regarding different aspects of your reading experience
