ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM OVERVIEW BILINGUAL PROGRAM

Advantages of the Dual Language Program •Dual Language participants receive a strong cognitive and academic base in the native language which supports development in the second language. •Research indicates that dual language learners are more creative thinkers and better problem solvers.

Language of the Day Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: Spanish Tuesday and Thursday: English

Pre-K to First Grade Students are taught language arts, science, and social studies in Spanish. Students are taught math in English.

Second to Third Grade Students receive language arts instruction in both English and Spanish. Students are taught math in English. Students are taught social studies and science in Spanish.

Fourth and Fifth Grade The program model depends on the year of implementation at the campus.
