procedural text text that tells you how to do something
personal narrative: any nonfiction text that talks about myself.
memoir text about one event in my life. diary/journal text written with dates about a time period in my life.
fiction stories that are not true
legend a story about a hero (possibly a real person) that has been exaggerated each time it is told.
folk tale/fairy tale a story about magic or fairies, usually for children, that teaches a lesson
