What is AP? AP is advanced placement. This is a college level class with college level reading and assignments. If you pass the AP Exam, then you can receive college credit. This class focuses on skills in writing, reading complex texts, and analyzing information in a thematic and creative way.

Why take AP? AP classes are more challenging, which means you’ll be interested more. It looks great on college applications. You will gain skills that will help you be successful in college.

What to expect this year in AP US History? Expect to work hard. Expect to improve your writing skills and sharpen your problem-solving techniques. Expect to engage in intense discussions and learn to write clearly and persuasively. Expect to learn test-taking strategies that will help you be successful. Expect to learn… A LOT.
