Thank You, Mrs. Lachowicz Mrs. Lachowicz’s MATH News Unit 3 Third Grade Math The four main areas of focus: *Explore the need for standard units of measure *Measure lengths using customary and metric units *Develop the concept of area Investigate the relationship between diameter and circuference Homework Reminder Homework will be sent home Tuesday and Thursday and is due back the next day. It will be handed in during math class. At home students may go online to practice at Everyday Math. They should work on the unit we are working on in class. Dream Box and Math in a Flash should also be practiced on days homework sheets are not passed out. Math Facts in a Flash Everyone should be done with level 14 by Christmas break. Level 18 is the end of second grade. If your child passes level 38 they earn a blue t-shirt for Math in a Flash. I red shirt will be earned after 71 levels. Thank You, Mrs. Lachowicz
