Foodie Fractions Let’s get cooking!

Question #1 Mrs. Peden, wants to make cookies/muffins for the class. She looks for a mixing bowl, and finds two different sizes. She only wants to use one bowl, so she needs to know if all her ingredients will fit in the small bowl. Her small bowl will hold 5 cups of ingredients. Will all the cookie/muffin ingredients fit in the small bowl? *one egg = 1/6 cup *1 tablespoon = 1/16 cup *ignore the teaspoon measurements for this question

Question #2 If 1 tablespoon holds 3 teaspoons in it, what fraction of a cup is a teaspoon?

Question #3 We have 30 students, and each student gets to have 2 cookies or 1 muffin each. How much of the three most used ingredients will you need to make enough cookies for everyone? (Hint: Check to see how much your recipe makes. Also, 1 dozen is 12)

Question #4 If we arranged people in groups of 4 and your snack is brought to each table on a large plate. How many cups of flour would be included in the cookies/muffins on each plate for each table? (Hint: you may want to look at your total cups of flour that you figured out in question #3 to use in this question)

Now bake according to your recipes’ regular size!
