This is my fifteenth year teaching 5th in the Tomball District This is my fifteenth year teaching 5th in the Tomball District. I have taught 5th grade Math/Science and 6th grade Math/Science. I am a graduate of SHSU. I am recently widowed. We have four beautiful independent, educated daughters and their husbands, plus we are blessed with seven grandchildren, ranging in age from 1 yr to 8 yrs.

In Class Support Both the students and I am fortunate to have assistance in both of the 6th grade classes. Mrs. Vallejo assists with period 5-6 and 7-8 and Mrs. Ibarra assists with period 5-6.

> Wednesday Folders are sent home weekly and will contain progress/conduct reports, information from TIS/TISD, and graded papers. Student Planners Are used to help students stay organized and includes information about what is going on in class and homework. When students first enter the classroom, this is the first order of business.

Homework > Homework - Monday-Thursday > Students should work on homework for 30 minutes or less. Homework is completed in pencil and all work must be included/shown. Students must make an attempt. They should be using their INB to help them. > Parents are encouraged to help with homework (students' 90% of the work, parents' 10%) *****Even if “NO HOMEWORK” is written in planner, students should be reviewing daily notes.*******

Students are notified of upcoming tests at least 3 days prior to the exam. For quizzes, one day prior notice, unless it is a pop quiz. For tests not completed during classtime, it is the student’s responsibility to come finish tests the next day at 7am. It is also the student’s responsibility to come in to make test corrections.

How Can You Help from Home? Review your child’s Math INB Check their planner for homework Please keep in contact with me regarding anything that may impact your child’s academic progress. If homework is misplaced, print assignment from Edlio page. Quiz your child over Multiplication Facts 0-12 Fact Family. Need to know by 9/30/18.

g Tutoring is available before school at 7am. If your child is absent or did not understand a homework assignment this is a terrific time for them to get caught up.
