xiāng sī Level 1 相 思 author:王维 wáng wéi hóng dòu shēng nán guó 红豆生南国， chūn lái fā jǐ zhī 春来发几枝 yuàn jūn duō cǎi xíe 愿君多采撷， cǐ wù zuì xiāng sī 此物最相思。 The red bean grows in southern lands. With spring its slender tendrils twine. Gather for me some more, I pray, Of fond remembrance 'tis the sign.

王维 wáng wéi 王维 Wáng Wéi; 699–759) was a Tang dynasty Chinese poet, musician, painter, and statesman. He was one of the most famous men of arts and letters of his time. Many of his poems are preserved, and twenty- nine were included in the highly influential 18th century anthology.

wàng tiānmén shān Level 2 望天门山 author: 李白 lǐ bái Tiān mén zhōng duàn chǔ jiāng kāi 天门中断楚江开， bì shuǐ dōng liú zhì cǐ huí 碧水东流至此回。 liǎng àn qīng shān xiāng duì chū 两岸青山相对出， gū fān yí piàn rì biān lái 孤帆一片日边来。 Mount Tianmen is split open by the Chu River, Here east-flowing blue water is forced to linger. The green hills on both banks run into my eyes, A single sail is coming from afar in the sunrise.

李白 lǐ bái 李白 Lǐ Bái, (701 – 762) was a major Chinese poet of the Tang dynasty. He is regarded as one of the greatest poets often called China's "golden age" of classical Chinese poetry. Li Bai was both a prolific and a creative poet, as well as one who stretched the rules of versification of his time. Around a thousand extant poems are attributed to him today.

sòng yǒu rén Level 3 送友人 author: 李白 lǐ bái qīng shān héng běi guō Bái shuǐ rào dōng chéng 青 山 横 北 郭，白 水 绕 东 城。 cǐ dì yì wéi bié gū péng wàn lǐ zhēng. 此 地 一 为 别，孤 蓬 万 里 征。 fú yún yóu zǐ yì, luò rì gù rén qíng. 浮 云 游 子 意，落 日 故 人 情。 huī shǒu zì zī qù, xiāoxiāo bān mǎ míng. 挥 手 自 兹 去，萧 萧 班 马 鸣。 With verdant mountain against the northern city wall aright, In the west, the city is girdled by river white. After this time we part here, You alone go, from me no longer near. You wander like a sailing cloud, And the sunset evokes my sadness as if to cry loud. As you wave a hand and vanishes your face, My heart is broken for still hearing your horse’s sad voice!

wú tí Level 4 無題 author:李商隱 lǐ shāng yǐn xiāng jiàn shí nán bié yì nán dōng fēng wú lì bǎi huā cán 相见时难别亦难，东风无力百花残。 chūn cán dào sǐ sī fāng jǐn là jù chéng huī lèi shǐ gān 春蚕到死丝方尽，蜡炬成灰泪始干。 xiǎo jìng dàn chóu yún bìn gǎi yè yín yìng jué yuèguāng hán 晓镜但愁云鬓改，夜吟应觉月光寒。 péng lái cǐ qù wú duō lù qīng niǎo yīn qín wèi tàn kàn 蓬莱此去无多路，青鸟殷勤为探看。

Translation of 无题 相见时难别亦难，东风无力百花残。 It is hard to meet, but hard to part too, the east wind languid, hundreds of flowers wasted. 春蚕到死丝方尽，蜡炬成灰泪始干。 A spring silkworm may not stop spinning silk after death. A candle's tears dry only when it is burned down to ashes. 晓镜但愁云鬓改，夜吟应觉月光寒。 In the morning's bronze mirror, you worry about the change in your hair, and you feels the moonlight cold, reading alone in the night. 蓬山此去无多路，青鸟殷勤为探看。 Mount Penglai, so celebrated in fairy tales, cannot be located far away: O Bluebird, please go there kindly, and take a look for me.

李商隱 lǐ shāng yǐn  Li Shangyin (c. 813– 858),  was a Chinese poet of the late Tang Dynasty born in Henei, Henan. He was much admired and "rediscovered" in the 20th century by the young Chinese writers for the quality of his poems. He is particularly famous for his tantalizing "no title" (無題) poems.
