A Long Term Partnership 15 Years of joint work supporting and funding communities to buy, develop and manage community assets. £90 Million of grants to date distributed through the partnership The UK’s largest grant maker working with the UK’s most effective and experienced community asset development organisation

Key Information Programme duration: 2016-2020 £10m per annum annual budget 2 stage process Maximum grant £1m Maximum £100k revenue (3 years) ‘More than money’

Outcomes - Our communities will: Achieve more sustainable economic, environmental and/or social development through ownership of land and buildings. Have a stronger role in and control over their own development. Own well managed, financially sustainable land and buildings.

SLF 3 Projects To Date 129 assessed 54 received Stage 1 funding (£627k +) 80 progressed to Stage 2 28 projects received Stage 2 support to date (£3.5M+) 180 projects in the pipeline

Heritage assets SLF focus is on community need Opportunity to take important buildings into community control All SLF projects require a sustainable business case Application assessed on merit and risk. Therefore, please engage with other funders at an early stage.

For Heritage projects referred through to the Scottish Land Fund we will seek to establish: Is the asset a listed building or in a conservation area? Is the project for the benefit of the community? Will it be community driven and be able to demonstrate social impact? Have you contacted the Architectural Heritage Fund? Have you considered HES/HLF for both pre and post-acquisition support?

SLF Advisors will: Discuss applicant and project viability early on with other heritage funding partners Agree where proposal sits on the ‘risk spectrum’ Be clear with applicants early which projects are the right fit, and your chances of success Liaise with other funding partners throughout application and assessment processes
