Navajo Nation - Future Developing a Renewable Energy program Energy Policy Section 10 - Navajo will develop a renewable portfolio of power generating facilities that balances coal, gas, or oil-fired generation with economically viable renewable energy generation from such sources as wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, and biomass Clean Energy Strategic Implementation Plan Currently there are proposed solar projects in the works. These projects: Seeking to mitigate negative economic impacts from reduced capacity of coal-fired generation facilities Loss of revenue Loss of jobs Seeking to strengthen and diversify Navajo economy Possibly create a Navajo owned generation facility to meet Navajo needs
