What does this tell us about the music industry? Radio 1 has stood up for the music it plays after the boss of a record label said they needed to play more tunes made by UK artists. The chairman of Telstar, who sell records by Misteeq and Craig David, said the station plays half as many UK tunes as it did five years ago. The radio station says they make sure more than three in every 10 records they play are from the UK. But an important music magazine said only 32 of the 100 most played tunes on Radio 1 in the first six months of 2003 were from the UK.

Global Brands: How many can you think of?

What could be the problem with global brands? Some people are worried that global brands will erode the traditional culture of communities. More businesses are looking closely at the impact they have on the communities that they serve.

Key Information Globalization: The increasing interdependence of the world Modern technology combined with improved communication and transport has made it easier to trade around the world. Our nations are interdependent. Companies, ideas and lifestyles are spreading more and more easily around the world.

Investigating the English Premiership Using the atlas to look up the locations of different countries you have to plot the origins of the Arsenal team onto your world map. Every player needs to have their name and the name of their country on the map. If you have finished then explain what your map shows.

Homework Complete all of the questions on the sheet in full sentences. Hand in Friday 5th January.
