What is Rockies Purchasing Services (RPS)? Purchasing Cooperative Started 2009-2010 by D11 27 Districts Northern Colorado Coop joined 2010-2011 40 Districts Members are not required to purchase off of this contract 27 Districts- a GPO or Group Purchasing Organization was selected- SUMMA/Provista 40 Districts- lunch ADP 134,000; annual purchases $20,000,000

How does the bid work? Request for Proposal (RFP) is done for the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) Specification Worksheet Bid Released- Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), distributor and manufacturers Primary and Secondary Awards RFP- what does GPO have to offer; contract pricing, incentives (early payment, order size), value added services (other contracts), reporting capabilities of GPO (pinpoint) and distributor; marker basket done for top high dollar/high usage items contract for one year with extensions up to 5 years Spec worksheet- more detail on next slide Award Eval- best price, local deviations

How does the bid work? Bid Requirements Manufacturer # and distributor #? Cost to Distributor, freight, total? Stocked at distributor? Minimum shipment to distributor? Servings per case? CN label? Shelf life? All natural ingredients used exclusively? Nutrition spec sheet 2) Fixed fee per case mark up 9) Spec sheet, point-of-sale in electronic format Used to evaluate bids Distribute to district members, Dropbox Recap- we chose requirements that were specific to our needs
