NEWS BROADCAST PROJECT HISTORICAL EVENTS

Historical Events (Video) - It will require four (4) students per group. - The news will be based on a historical event(s). - The news will replicate the news broadcast during the assigned time period.

Each group will create a video recorded clip (USB, DVD, or other media devise). What can be used to record the project? - Video camera - Phone camera with video

Time Management - Each group must create a video clip that is at least 6-8 minutes. Anything below 6 minutes or above 8minutes will result in getting points subtracted. *Make sure to use a timer to stay within the timeframe.

What should be on the Video Clip What should be on the Video Clip? Each group will summarize two (2) specific event(s). Each student will take turn in reporting their portion of the news broadcast to get full credit.

What should you wear. The project will simulate as a real “news report What should you wear? The project will simulate as a real “news report.” The news reporters should dress-up to present the news for a good grade. The news report can be done in any appropriate place that is quiet to simulate a news room.

Suggestion Watch the nightly news a few times to get an idea of the format used in presenting the news. Remember that the news report (video) should be informative and educational in nature. It should be related to the given historical period.

Essay (500 words per Group) The news report should be a well written essay (introduction, body, conclusion). The essay will include all the written work of the members in the group. See Essay template on: dr.aarcega@weebly.com

Introduction – The main topic/subject should be addressed clearly in the introduction. Body - The supporting paragraphs should support the statement in the introduction. Conclusion Closing points should be summarized in the end to insure the key points were covered in the essay.

Use a tripod or holder to prevent your phone or camera from moving. - Oral Presentation = 200 Points (loud, clear, and easy to understand) - Physical Presentation = 50 Points (Dress-up, neat, & clean to portray professionalism) - Visuals = 50 Points Charts, Graphs, Pictures
