مقايسه تکنولوژي هاي ديسک، نوار و حافظه فلاش ديسک مغناطيسي دسترسي تصادفي به فايلها قيمت نسبتا مناسب در کپي تعداد کم فايل سريع اما براي فايلها با تعداد زياد کند نوار تيپ مغناطيسي دسترسي ترتيبي قيمت نسبتا پايين کاربرد آنها بيشتر براي پشتيبان گيري حافظه فلاش از تراشه حافظه خاص تشکيل شده اند قابليت حمل آسان و اندازه و قيمت آنها به ترتيب پايين و بالا

گذري بر ابزارهاي ذخيره سازي قابل حمل ديسکي که استفاده از آن براي انتقال اطلاعات بدون نياز به انتقال کامپيوتر صورت مي گيرد (Removable) مانند ديسک فلاپي يا LS-120 SD-Ram, Micro Ram,… انواع آن درايورهاي فلاپي نوري با ظرفيت بالا (حدود 21 مگابايت ظرفيت دارند) درايوهاي سوپر ديسک LS-120: مانند فلاپي با حجم 120 مکابايت درايوهاي ZIP: رابطهاي آن معمولا شامل USB-ATA-SCSI-PCMCIA و اندازه 100 مگا به بالا ظرفيت دارد. درايوهاي JAZ: رابطهاي آن معمولا شامل USB-ATA-SCSI-PCMCIA و اندازه 1 گيگا به بالا ظرفيت دارد مقايسه درايوهاي مغناطيسي قابل حمل با ظرفيت بالا قيمت به ازاي ظرفيت زمان دستيابي درايو قابليت سازگاري حمل ظرفيت ذخيره داخلي يا خارجي قابليت بوت شدن از درايو
