The program was based on the PJ Library book: Ella’s Trip To Israel The program was based on the PJ Library book: Ella’s Trip To Israel. Ella’s friend, the stuffed monkey by the name Kofi was there at each station. More than 200 people from the Jewish and Israeli community in Austin came for this event. התוכנית התבססה על ספר של ספריית פיג'אמה שנקרא: "הטיול של אלה לישראל" חברתה של אלה, בובת הקוף "קופי" הייתה שם בכל התחנות. יותר מ200 איש מהקהילה היהודית והישראלית באוסטין בקרו באירוע.

כל ילד קיבל בדוכן :"ברוכים הבאים לישראל" דרכון Each child got a passport at the welcome to Israel table. (notice the Partnership w/ Israel banner on the back). This event was dedicated to our great partnership w/our homeland Israel. The children had the chance to visit 7 Israeli sites. They got stamp in their passport, in each city, after they completed all activities. When they showed a full passport they got a prize! כל ילד קיבל בדוכן :"ברוכים הבאים לישראל" דרכון (שימו לב לשלט של השותפות שלנו ברקע!) כל האירוע הזה הוקדש לשותפות הנהדרת שלנו עם ישראל.לילדים ניתנה הזדמנות לבקר 7 אתרים ישראליים. הם קיבלו חותמת בדרכון בכל אתר לאחר שסיימו את הפעילויות שבו. כשהראו את הפספורט המלא בכל החותמות הם זכו במתנה!

Under the Tel Aviv coastline our trip in Israel was about to start… מתחת לתמונת החוף של תל אביב, הטיול שלנו לישראל עמד להתחיל...

בשוק "נחלת בנימין" הם יכלו לקשט חמסה ולהדביק עליה את תפילת הבית First station: Tel Aviv. The children decorated visors to help them deal with the hot Israeli sun along the Mediterranean Sea. At Tel-Aviv artists market they could also decorate a Chamsah hand and glue the prayer for the home on it. תחנה ראשונה: תל אביב הילדים קשטו מגיני שמש שיעזרו למבקרים להתמודד עם השמש הישראלית החמה לחוף הים התיכון בשוק "נחלת בנימין" הם יכלו לקשט חמסה ולהדביק עליה את תפילת הבית

From Tel Aviv the children took K’vish (road) # 1 to Jerusalem From Tel Aviv the children took K’vish (road) # 1 to Jerusalem. Our beautiful Capital. The city of gold. The children created the Yerushalaim Shel Zahav with yellow paint, glue, pieces of paper and glitter. מתל אביב, הילדים נסעו בכביש 1 לירושלים, בירתנו היפה, ירושלים של זהב. הילדים יצרו את "ירושלים של זהב" בהדבקת חתיכות נייר וצביעתן בצהוב

Families could also write a note and put it in between the stones of the Kotel. המשפחות יכלו להטמין פתק בין אבני ה"כותל"

בתחנה זו יצרו הילדים אומנות במלח צבעוני Down (below sea level) to Yam Hamelach, the Dead Sea. At this station the children made colored salt art . התחנה הבאה: מתחת לפני הים, ים המלח בתחנה זו יצרו הילדים אומנות במלח צבעוני

And of course, had fun with some black mud וכמובן נהנו מהבוץ השחור

Next station: Archeological Dig Next station: Archeological Dig. The children had to dig and discover “old” coins and mosaic stones in the sand. התחנה הבאה: חפירות ארכיאולוגיות: הילדים התבקשו לחפור ולחפש :"מטבעות עתיקות וחלקי פסיפס בחול

In the Kibbutz the children had to milk the cow! After the Dig how about a visit or a working day in a Kibbutz in the Western Galilee? לאחר החפירות, מה דעתכם לבקר ולעבוד יום בקיבוץ בגליל המערבי? In the Kibbutz the children had to milk the cow! בקיבוץ הילדים חלבו פרה!

The next station was the fun and attractive city of Eilat The next station was the fun and attractive city of Eilat. In Eilat children could go on fishing in the red sea. בתחנה הבאה פגשו הילדים את העיר הכייפית אילת. באילת הם יצאו לדוג בים האדום

Or play in the sand with sea shells או לשחק בחול עם צדפים

Even the parents could relax at the beach אפילו ההורים יכלו לנוח על החוף

At Eilat art table the children could create and decorate a fish from paper plate באילת , בשולחן האומנות קשטו הילדים דג העשוי מצלחת נייר חד פעמית

The last station was Mount Carmel The last station was Mount Carmel. On the table parents could get information about JNF and donate money to plant a tree in Israel. The children could bring the burned tree to life by adding decorated new leaves התחנה האחרונה הייתה הר הכרמל.על השולחן הונחו דפי מידע להורים על הקרן הקיימת וכן יכלו לתרום כסף לנטיעת עצים בישראל. הילדים יכלו להחיות את העץ השרוף ע"י הוספת עלים מקושטים לענפיו.

The food for the event was the one and only Falafel dish in a pita The food for the event was the one and only Falafel dish in a pita. Israeli style w/ many salads and tehini dressing. The best food in the world האוכל באירוע כלל את האחד והיחיד: הפלאפל בפיתה בסגנון ישראלי, עם סלט וטחינה- האוכל הטוב בעולם!
