Mission “Lead public, private and non-profit organizations toward economic diversification encompassing all aspects of energy generation, use, management and storage”

History: 2011 Huntsville Mayor Mr. Tommy Battle establishes the Energy Huntsville Initiative to support local economic diversification Mr. Dale Jobes is the first Executive Director of Energy Huntsville First major event is held to address responses to the 2011 tornadoes

History: 2012 Regular, formal meetings begin with three areas of emphasis Programs Opportunities Networking Mr. Steve Reed introduces Energy Opportunities Database

History: 2013 Lt. G. Jim Pillsbury (U.S. Army, retired) and Mr. Cole Walker establish by-laws and a Board of Directors Mr. Jay Newkirk becomes the second Executive Director of Energy Huntsville

History: 2014 First Energy Summit is held in conjunction with Geo Huntsville’s annual conference MOU is signed with USSRC Pres./CEO Dr. Deborah Barnhart to hold meetings at USSRC and help establish an Energy Center of Excellence at USSRC

History: 2015 MOU is signed with UAH to establish the Charger Energy Research Lab Dr. Bill Carswell becomes the third Executive Director of Energy Huntsville 501(c)(6) Non-Profit Status is finalized MOU is signed with BizTech to establish the Energy Entrepreneurs Collaborative

Greenpower Finals 2015 79 teams from five countries Teams ranged from elementary school to corporate sponsored Races were Time-based Lap-based UK teams participated in previous elimination races 11/19/2018

EVT Challenges Build the car in two months Working in Will’s Dad’s basement All designs were intuitive (no modeling) All items COTS (Home Depot, McMaster Carr) Two-year gap in participation resulted in very conservative safety and rules interpretation No track testing 11/19/2018
