What is possible Technology? - Theme I think we can all agree, Technology is now making more and more possible with connecting buildings but more important that the buildings are connecting the systems within. This integration of these systems and the combined data they bring is the exciting part of this technology revolution and here at Honeywell we see the connected/smart building as the future of the built environment. But technology and data alone will not bring benefits/value to the customer, and over the next couple of slides I will add the other ingredients to connect building recipe Technology will change but the benefits and value it brings is why people want to join us on this connected building journey and this is where this story goes. Technology as a enabler but without adding domain knowledge and experience to this and not forgetting the most important part of the building, the people, these three things are needed. Honeywell Internal

Connect tech. and people Connect people Outcome Based Service Its all about the People! the important part of Connected Buildings is not the buildings but connecting the people to the buildings and making their experience and this is where many people have failed in the past. Technology enables the people to engage with the building bringing the benefits of well being, comfort, sense of being valued and studies have shown this can lead a happier person and higher productivity. The Technology wont push people apart it will bring them together and where else is this more important than at work Building user being brought closer to the building itself and outcome based services, comfort, the feeling etc If the people don’t want to engage or see why they should then the Technology can be the best in the world but where is the “So what?” Honeywell Internal

What you need . . . Real time performance insights, expertise and service responses . . .delivering Operating efficiencies of 12-15% to give visibly better building performance at lower risk Domain Knowledge Making the specialist available 24/7, think of Alexa, Siri etc always there for you in real time. Without the domain knowledge data is just data, with knowledge it becomes insight and actionable And completing the 3 things that will ensure the success of a connected building. Community The connected building isn’t just delivered by one company everyone in this room delivering this to the end user. Without everyone pulling in the right direction then this vision will not happen. Honeywell Internal

Powerful Results Across Sites Run hours for selected assets reduced by up to 50% Corrections to problems causing assets to run at levels that shorten their life. 12% Energy Savings Sensor failure hours cut by 80% 8% - 20% reduction in 3rd Party maintenance costs Comfort problem hours reduced by 40% Up to 300% increase in proactive fault finding 50%-90% of assets found to have improvement opportunities 25%-75% reduction in reactive Service Calls The so what! The benefits of bringing the connected building to life. Powerful Results Across Sites Honeywell Internal

Turning connected buildings into connected occupants is now possible using today’s technology. Too much is said about connecting the desperate systems within a building rather than focusing on connecting the occupant. Integration of the systems has been done in the past but successfully integrating the user is the challenge that we all face The 3 key things that are making the connected building story a success Honeywell Internal

Thoughts for the Future Continue to add complex integrated divergent systems only supportable by the one installer allowing the construction market to value engineer out any user outcomes or reduction in cost to run. Build ‘smart’ in from the architect to the final commission and drastically reduce total cost of building use and provide outcome led built environments connecting users and buildings.
