Coastal Response - Bruun’s Rule

Bruun’s Rule Assumptions With rising sea level, the upper beach is eroded due to the landward translation of the profile. The material eroded from the upper beach is deposited immediately offshore - the eroded and deposited volumes are equal. Nearshore bottom level rise is equal to sea level rise, maintaining a steady offshore water depth through time. Ask students what the problems associated with this model are?
