Information for prospective Registrars

We are a Training Practice (GMS) with three GP Trainers: Dr Adel Hai, Dr Mervyn Rodrigues and Dr Imogen Bloor . We have up to 3 Registrars at any time. The practice regularly hosts medical students from UCL (overseen by Dr Jeremy Marshall), and currently also has a Trainee Practice Nurse. We work from purpose built premises in the heart of Islington: 28 Laycock St, N1 1SW. There are excellent transport links, we are close to Highbury & Islington Station (Victoria line & Overground) and there is parking. The registered list size is around 17 000. There is a cohesive and supportive team of 15 part & full time GPs, 3 nurses and Admin staff. Co-located onsite services which we have access to include Phlebotomy, Community ENT clinics, iCOPE Primary Care Psychology, Primary Care Alcohol Worker and Children’s Nurses in Primary Care. We also have a GP who does IUCD fittings and Contraceptive implants.

Why join us? Why join us here? We are committed reflective patient centred GPs, who strive to provide the best possible care for our patients. We are very enthusiastic about training, with a whole team approach to support Trainees, and a mixture of 1:1 and joint teaching. We provide a thorough induction programme, and a paced roll out of clinical and clinical administrative work for Registrars (such as Docman, Repeat Prescribing etc) tailored to experience. The standard timetable is will be new contract compliant but with scope for personalisation.   Monday Tuesday Weds Thursday Friday am Surgery/clinical admin/debrief Clinical Meeting Staff meeting pm Tutorial VTS CPD

Dr Imogen Bloor imogen.bloor@nhs.net There are regular weekly lunchtime clinical meetings. Trainees have their own rooms. There is a long tradition of past Trainees either staying on or returning to work at the Practice. Tea and coffee is available as needed , as well as lots of patience, and a good sprinkling of humour ! If you would like to talk to us or visit and meet the Trainers and the current Registrars, please contact : Dr Imogen Bloor imogen.bloor@nhs.net Dr Adel Hai adel.hai@nhs.net Dr Mervyn Rodrigues mervyn.rodrigues@nhs.net
