Presentation transcript:

Week Beginning Monday 19th February 2018 Fairtrade Fortnight aims to put a spotlight on trade. When trade is fair it has the potential to improve the lives of the farmers and workers who grow our food. When trade is fair, it can make the world a better place. Together we have that power, so get involved and be part of the difference. It's a shocking fact that millions of poor farmers who produce the food we love still don’t earn enough to feed their own families. It’s time for this injustice to end.  Through Fairtrade, millions of poor farmers and workers are already coming together to demand a change. They are working hard to close the door on exploitation and transform their communities, supported by Fairtrade. Fairtrade Fortnight Week

Something to think about Reflection Under-Appreciated? Watch the following clip: https://schools.fairtrade.org.uk/resource/under-appreciated/ With a focus on sugar and cocoa farmers, this film looks at the effects of trade and who benefits most from our increasingly globalised world. Something to think about Why should people who help to grow our food and goods end up tramped in poverty? How can less economically countries benefit from trade? What can WE/YOU do?

Let us pray… O Lord, You revealed your Kingdom in parables That spoke of simple things — Yeast in a loaf of a bread, A woman sweeping her home. Grant that the simple choices we make – What tea to drink, what fruit to eat – May honour your Name And reveal your Kingdom present among us. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
